American Academy of Ophthalmology

Dr. Linda Zhang, joined The Eye Center in 2014. She was born in Shanghai, China, and moved to the United States at the age of 7. She grew up in Nashville, Tennessee where she graduated as valedictorian of her high school, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High. She went to Duke University for college, where she graduated summa cum laude with a major in biomedical engineering and minors in English and chemistry. She then attended medical school at the prestigious University of Michigan where she graduated at the top of her class. She did a one-year internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and then returned to the esteemed ophthalmology residency program at the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan. Following her ophthalmology residency, Dr. Zhang did an additional fellowship year in clinical glaucoma at the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan. After her training, she stayed on faculty at the University of Michigan as a clinical instructor, where she practiced general ophthalmology as well as specialized in glaucoma. She has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 2013.

Dr. Zhang is well-trained in all aspects of general ophthalmology including the medical and surgical management of cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, diabetes, macular degeneration, and routine eye care. She also specializes in the medical and surgical management of patients with advanced glaucoma. She performs small incision no-stitch cataract surgery with and without the LenSx® laser system, as well as other glaucoma surgeries in the SurgiCare facilities in Warren.
